“CAN. 1” (2025). Ceramic, transparent glaze
We often speak of life as a journey. But what if we could hold that journey in our hands?
“CAN” is a series of interactive ceramic sculptures I created not just to be seen — but to be touched.
Each piece invites the viewer to feel its weight, texture, and temperature. It’s an invitation to connect physically and emotionally with the artwork, breaking the traditional distance between art and audience.
This project began with a simple question: What does life feel like?
In our increasingly digital, disconnected world, we often experience life through screens — flattened, pixelated, abstracted. “CAN” is my response. It’s a series that returns us to the body.
To presence. To touch.
This first piece in the series is a vertical stack of round, brightly colored ceramic forms — each hand-shaped and uniquely glazed.
They are reminiscent of stones, organs, or even childhood toys, yet intentionally abstract.
The balance between the elements feels precarious but alive — just like life itself.
Each form is meant to be lifted, turned, explored.
The glossy surfaces contrast with their organic, imperfect shapes.
The pieces wobble slightly when touched, but they hold. Like us.
What It Means to Me
As a multidisciplinary artist, my work often explores identity, memory, and emotional landscapes. “CAN” takes this exploration into the physical realm. It is sculpture as reflection. Sculpture as resilience. Sculpture as a question: Can we hold life? Can we carry it? Can we endure it?
I created this work in a time of personal transition — a time when life felt uncertain, fragmented, nonlinear. Each piece in “CAN” reflects that fragility and the quiet power that emerges when we allow ourselves to feel it all.
An Invitation
You’re not only allowed to touch this artwork — you’re expected to. In doing so, I hope you discover your own sensations, memories, and meanings. This is art that exists in the space between my hands and yours.
